Yo Ashley,
I was kidnapped form Carnie Folk at the Strawberry Festival in Marysville...or was it the Sausage Festival in Everett...it's all a blur to me now.  All I know is that I have a strange affinity for the ring-toss..oh..and sometimes on the bus, I guess people's weight.

Jason misses the NFL channel & we can't believe that football season is about to start up! But
guess where we went a few weeks ago....the super bowl...yup, you read that correctly, the Italian super bowl for american football! We couldn't believe we got in for free - not often that you score a free ticket to the super bowl! We thought damn, we are gonna rock tonight - football, american football in Italy! When are we gonna see this again!

We were 'packed' in with about a thousand fans - Bothell HS pulling in 3 times that for playoff games! We cheered, heard them call the game in Italian which was funny, refer to passes & runs as 'bello' & of course sat with drunken fools - but what drove Jason INSANE were the penalty flags- he kept yelling - 'it's not soccer ref!' not that anyone understood him. We're talking a flag every freakn' play!  The scores were high, since there wasn't much of a defense which kept it fun to see a touchdown every few downs.

It was nice to see something familiar that reminded us of the States, but all in all it was pretty much unwatchable - we made the best of it - knowing it will be a long time before we see football live again! We sat on both sides of the field & cheered for both teams! I just kept saying - "dreams really do come true, you always said you wanted, just once, to go to the super bowl! - here we are baby, here we are!"

Only in Italy can you sit at the game, eating prosciutto & aged pecorino on a flat bread piadine!

(Brett Favre what is up?! NY?! Really!!)

Although I'd rather talk on the phone, this will be fun! I hope we can keep it going!
We've been thinking of you guys while watching the pre-season football games.
Hate to cut this short, gotta go to Costco and other arrends.
Love you guys!
Auntie Chris
So this may be crazy, but it is the 21st century - we are in the Italian countryside with only a cellphone for internet & it sucks! We have to hang it in the window, out the door or on a tree for reception. And to make international calls - only at Sunrise Cafe in Urbania...so what's a family to do to keep in touch?! A Blog! What the hell, why not give it a try!
We can all add on stories & pics - let's try to do it weekly to keep in touch!
Check the email that I sent you with the link for the password & use your own email address.
Keep in touch.....blog away!!
